Welcome CNY on 2nd Day

Its a tradition that prayers are done for the 2nd day of CNY to welcome the new year. For many, the offerings are done to the ancestors and the Gods on the praying altar.

We usually have chicken, roast pork and other favorite dishes.

Second day is also the time that married women return to her family's house and visit parents. However, for the new generations, it is not necessary for so, and it is arranged more to suit the convenience of both families.

Innovative CNY commercial - DIGI

Another brand that I like for CNY commercial is DIGI. Last few years when it came up with the DIGI commercial '很旺'.

It is about a feng shui master trying to read the fengshui of a house and he went to a room and say its the best place with fengshui, apparently the DIGI coverage is available there and the mascot, wearing yellow is there.

Coincidently, '很旺' is also same pronounciation as the color yellow in cantonese. It fits nicely for DIGI as its corporate color is also yellow.

So, will you have another ''很旺' - yellow year? I hope so!

For the year of rabbit, it seems that it is a good year for those with snake and horse zodiac. There are direct and indirect wealth, so its a good sign.

It is available at Mid Valley Megamall, 3rd floor, next to the exhibition halls. What feng shui items do you own?

Curry Mee @ Cravings, Tesco Cheras

Cravings is a new concept restaurant opened at Tesco Cheras. Tried the curry mee since it is reasonably priced at RM4.90. It comes with my favorite cockles.

Compared to Hainan Coffee Shop next door, this is half the price. Quality wise: the curry is a little watery. Still find the Cheras Sang Kee has the best curry mee in town!

Weekend Bazaar @ Jaya33

Friday to Sunday, Jaya33 organise weekend bazaar at its main lobby. You can get variety of stuffs ranging from clothes, accessories, food and household products.

There is one stall that I fancy that makes cute accessories from polymer; into necklace, earrings, rings, bookmarks, bracelet charms and more. The lady owner, Phang hand-made them all by herself.

Lobster Pasta @ Skinny Pizza, Raffles City

I was at Raffles City to catch up with some old uni-mates. The shopping center was recently built, I mean, well, it was not there the last time I was in Singapore.

The place was quite big and I got lost in the basement, looking for the MPH bookstore where I was supposed to wait for my friends, Hendry and Doreen. It took me some time to finally found the bookstore hidden at one corner.

The basement has big collection of foodstalls. We went to this place called Skinny Pizza. We ordered a few dishes including skinny pizza, lobster pasta and also 'Spanish' style rice, forgot the name that it is called. Is it ratatoille? Ah... Short memory, Dennis did told me, can't remember.

The pasta with lobster is yummy, and it has quite a generous portion of the lobster meat!
