The Chronicle of Dengue Fever, Day 8 - 7 Sept 2010 (Tue)

Platlet increased to 120 and fever subside. Doc said need to monitor for one more day.

Because of the drips machine, I was not mobile. So rest on bed though feel very much better.

The Chronicle of Dengue Fever, Day 7 - 6 Sept 2010 (Mon)

The whole ward was filled with cancer patients. Well, the ward itself was meant for them, only me a dengue patient in oncology ward.

Everything was fine except that my bed was behind an uncle with terminal stage brain cancer, in his fifties. Because of pain, he kept screaming and scold japanese bad words. His excessive phlegm also made me 'geli' and scared of the virus.

Asked nurse to keep an eye for empty bed in normal medical ward.

At about 10pm, with the help of nurse, I was transferred to normal medical ward.

Thought of having peaceful was again shattered when I was placed next to a 'nenek' who screamed and screamed throughout the night.

Apparently the whole ward cannot sleep because of her.

Red spots appeared all over my body, legs, hands, body. The gOod thing is the heatiness and toxins have been flushed out. Bad thing is I feel itchiness all over body.

Doctor gave anti 'itchiness' pill but still I can't stop scratching.

The Chronicle of Dengue Fever, Day 6 - 5 Sept 2010 (Sun)

Woke up by my alarm clock at 530am. Forgot to switch it off. Came down to kitchen for KK(paracetamol) and slept in living room.

Terrible headache. Went to HUKM private wing, hope they can admit me. Apparently the private wing is only for specialist clinic, and not normal medical case like dengue.

Blood test confirmed platelet deteriorate to 44. Readmit to HUKM, this round put at Oncology treatment ward as normal medical ward was full.

Slept whole day, bad headache.

The Chronicle of Dengue Fever, Day 5 - 4 Sept 2010 (Sat)

Went back to HUKM in the morning for blood test. Waiting for the result required one hour so Sky and I had breakfast at nearby KFC.

Not bad huh still can 'lepak' at KFC as dengue patient.

Blood test was 111 again. Slight fever 37.8 degree celcius.

Spent the afternoon with Elly at mom's home. Overnite at mom's place.

After 4 counts of platelet stabilised at 111, doctor said can discharge. Fever still at 38.5 degree celcius that time.

Took bath and wash hair at the Observation unit.

The Chronicle of Dengue Fever, Day 3 - 2 Sept 2010 (Thu)

Real start of 'suffering'. Fever 39.9 degree celcius. Can't wake up, lie on bed only.

Dad came fetched me to hospital. Admitted to Emergency unit, Observation ward. Platelet 60. Blood pressure 90/60 and lowest at 70/40.

Put on drips. Whole day, all I can remember was take blood tests, blood pressures tests, fever tests and rounds to the toilet.

Shivered at night, though still high fever at 39 degree celcius.

Took longer than normal to wake up. Felt tired. Heavy head.

Got function at office so get ready to go office though a bit fever n headache.

At LRT station, stomach purging. Diarhoea. Can't go office, rest a while, took cab home.

Went to clinic in afternoon. 38.5 degree celcius.

Zzzzzzz whole day.
